Creator and Studio Lead of Pineapple Under the Sea Studio

After graduating from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a Bachelor’s in English, I have dedicated myself toward creating energetic spaces for creatives to share their craft to an audience of thousands while in turn providing them with work-shopping experience to hone and build their skills as designers.

My resume can be found here.

Pineapple Under the Sea Studio

Starting in September of 2020, what began as a series of semi-monthly speedmapping events blossomed into a beloved series of community projects which herald the hard work of dozens of creatives.

Our work has been featured on the PCGamer magazine, as well as having been recognized multiple times on the annual doomworld Cacowards in which our efforts have been described as a “source of excitement for participants and observers alike.”

As studio lead, I am in charge of directing and producing all of the projects that we run. My duties involve testing levels, compiling level packs, marketing, designing event logos, creating character and UI art, and encouraging level designers to explore new horizons.

In January 2023 I participated in Pirate Software’s 14th Game Jam, submitting The King’s Realm, a simple isometric city builder that was developed in under two weeks.

As the sole artist on a team of three, I was exclusively responsible in creating all of the visual elements present in the game such as the GUI, the logo, and the sprites used by players to make their cute little cities.

The game is free on itchio, so don’t forget to check out the link above and give it a download to see how many years you can keep your king’s realm thriving!

Ball Busters: the Game

What began as a passion project between myself and my good friend Mitch Bath, Ball Busters the Game is serving as an experimental introductory into solo game development for the two of us.

With both of us tackling creative and management design decisions for the game together, we’re using our individual strengths to create a game that evokes the same excitement and exuberance that exudes from the several dungeons & dragons campaigns that have inspired the experiences that will be seen in this game.

My task as the sole artist of the game is to design all of the core visual assets including player and enemy character sprites, UI and HUD visualizers, fonts, menu screens, props, and level textures.

This project has been an incredible experience and I look forward to sharing more in the future!

Mapping Off: For Charity!

In March 2023, I organized a charity event with some regular collaborators of mine to livestream a Map-Off between myself and Myolden to raise money for the Anxiety & Depression Association of America.

During our first stream we raised nearly $900 and are preparing many more events in the future! Stay turned!
